Ground slipping from under rulers' feet: SalmanBreaking

March 29, 2025

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Secretary General Salman Akram Raja has strongly criticized the government, stating that those in power believe they are in control, but the ground is slipping from under their feet. He emphasized that it is the constitutional right of the people to take to the streets if necessary, and if such a situation arises, the responsibility will lie with the administration.

While speaking to a private TV Channel Raja addressed recent legal developments, stating that no affidavit was given, but a significant matter in the court needs clarification. He pointed out that the court’s decision was disregarded, calling the refusal to allow meetings with PTI founder Imran Khan an act of contempt. He questioned whether the Islamabad High Court could enforce its ruling or if the country had completely abandoned constitutional and legal principles.

He revealed that while the government had agreed to permit two meetings with Imran Khan on Tuesday and Thursday, the list of approved visitors was altered, excluding the PTI founder’s sisters. Expressing concern over the state of the judiciary, he warned that if such actions continue, constitutional courts will lose their authority, turning the country into a lawless state.
