Govt to extend all support for enhancing meat exportsBreaking

Punjab Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi has said that the government will extend all out support for enhancing exports of meat from the country.  The reaffirmed the government’s commitment while addressing a meeting with a 21-member delegation of meat exporters in Lahore on Monday. In the course of the meeting, the delegation presented constructive suggestions aimed at augmenting livestock production. Mohsin Naqvi emphasized the need for an actionable plan to surpass the existing 5 percent target for meat exports, demonstrating a proactive stance towards industry growth. Expressing concerns over illegal tax collection in the cattle market, the caretaker chief minister directed immediate action against such elements.

Furthermore, he advocated the establishment of FMD (Foot-and-Mouth Disease) compartments to bolster livestock production practices. Assuring a collaborative approach, Mohsin Naqvi announced plans to engage with the federal government to explore avenues for enhancing meat exports, underscoring the importance of a cohesive national strategy. The meeting provided a comprehensive briefing, revealing that the current meat export value from Lahore stands at 300 million dollars. In their remarks, the stakeholders concerned expressed confidence in the potential of the meat export sector, setting an ambitious target to escalate exports to 5 billion dollars, showcasing a collective resolve to fortify and expand this crucial industry.
