Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider Khan  attended the 283rd Urs of renowned Sufi poet Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai, laid a floral wreath at the shrine and offered special prayers for the progress and security of the country and nation.He also offered Nawafil in the premises of the shrine.Sindh Culture Minister Zulfiqar Shah along with the district administration received Governor Punjab at Nawabshah Sindh Airport.

Sindh Culture Minister Zulfiqar Shah welcomed Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider Khan by presenting him with a Sindhi Ajrak and extended his best wishes to him. Speaking on the occasion, Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan said that the role of Sufis is important in spreading the light of islam in the Indian subcontinent.

He said that visiting the shrines refreshes the human soul. The Punjab Governor said that the Sufis played important role in spreading the light of Islam through their words and deeds. He further said that there is a need to promote peace and brotherhood by following the teachings of the Sufis. The Punjab Governor said that those who spread religious sectarianism in the name of Islam will be dealt with strictly.
