Overseas Pakistanis are the ambassadors of Pakistan and play a vital role to strengthen the economy. To provide them justice without physical appearance here in Pakistan, smart and special courts will be formed, stated Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development (OP&HRD) Chaudhry Salik Hussain, addressing the First Annual Overseas Pakistanis' Convention,2025 here at Jinnah Convention Centre (JCC).
Designating the overseas Pakistanis as state guests, he said, “To provide relief to the oversea Pakistanis, the said courts will justify the legal issues within the 90 days without any delay. In this concern our government has recently passed a bill”. The federal minister appreciated their services for Pakistan and shared that for the first time, the remittance has exceeded $4 billion in a month and the minister reaffirmed that the government is committed to resolve the issues of Overseas Pakistanis. The objective of this convention is to brief overseas Pakistanis that government is determined to solve their issues and their welfare.
Addressing the event as a chief guest, speaker National assembly, Ayaz Sadiq said, “Overseas Pakistanis are our asset. To support them, a committee of higher level consisting of all the relevant government offices should be established. So that suggestions to solve their issues should be submitted to the cabinet and further to the for any required legislation. He also favoured their right to vote in elections.
He said that remittances from over Pakistanis support the state wallets and they should also be offered with special relief in tax or other concerns like the exporters. He also said that the issues of overseas Pakistanis concerning property should be solved on priority basis and a smart online passport renewal and visa issuance system must be established.
Ali Javed, ambassador of Pakistan, appointed in Italy also addressed this event. He said, “Government is supporting the students to get visa for education in Italy specially for the PHD students. To solve the legal issues of Pakistani communities, open courts are established. He said that after Britain, the largest Pakistani community is settled in Italy and due to the efforts of Pakistani embassy, the number of visas is increased by the Italian government.
Addressing the event, Ahmed Farooq, ambassador of Pakistan, appointed in Saudi Arabia said, “A good number of Pakistani workers is serving on almost all mega projects concerning infrastructure and constructions. To provide them more opportunities and ease in serving there, Pakistani embassy is diligently working”.
At this event, Ahsan Raza Shah, ambassador of Pakistan, appointed in Malaysia said, “More than 200,000 Pakistanis are serving in different sectors in Malaysia and more than 4000 Pakistani students are also getting education from there. To better serve the Pakistani community there, special desk of NADRA in Pakistani High Commission is working efficiently. He also appreciated the services of overseas Pakistanis in playing a vital role to strengthen economy.
