An unveiling ceremony of Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) Golden Jubilee commemorative postage stamps was held here. Federal Minister for Industries and Production, Rana Tanveer Hussain, was the guest of Honor, while Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Nasir Mahmood hosted the event. Addressing the ceremony, Rana Tanveer Hussain said that Allama Iqbal Open University has made significant progress in the field of education, with 2.5 million children out of school in the country, there is a need to bring these children into the educational network.
The federal minister further stated that to bring prosperity to people’s homes and support the country’s social and economic development, special attention is needed on skills and vocational education, in addition to higher education, so that students can secure respectable employment as soon as they graduate. Dr. Nasir Mahmood said that the university is celebrating its golden jubilee and it is essential to mention Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, who gave this precious gift to the Pakistani nation. He said, “Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has recently enforced an educational emergency in the country, and we can play a significant role in this national movement”.
