Goher Ejaz urges govt to fulfil promise of cheaper electricityBreaking

Former caretaker Federal Minister Goher Ejaz has urged the government to fulfil its promise of reducing electricity prices in March.The former minister also warned that expensive power is crippling industries.Gohar Ejaz questioned why the government was delaying the price reduction despite completing negotiations with Independent Power Producers (IPPs). 

He stated that after talks with IPPs, the electricity tariff should be reduced by Rs10 per unit, emphasizing that Pakistan’s electricity is twice as expensive as in neighboring countries.Former Minister Gohar also called for stopping capacity payments to IPPs and insisted that the government must act swiftly to bring relief to the public and industries.
