Free education for 10% children in Sindh private schoolsBreaking

September 30, 2023

Caretaker Chief Minister Sindh Justice (R) Maqbool Baqir has directed the Education Secretary to implement the Sindh Right of Children's Free and Compulsory Education Act within a week and submit a report. Under the law, every private school and educational institution is required to provide free education to 10% of their total admissions from class one to

classes onwards.

The Chief Minister noted that the law has been in force since 2013, but private schools have been openly violating it. He said that strict legal action should be taken against educational institutions that do not follow the law. The Chief Minister's directive is a welcome move, as it will help to ensure that all children in Sindh have access to quality education, regardless of their financial background.
