Security forces personnel gunned down four terrorists during an operation in District Tank of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. According to a statement issued by the military’s media wing Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Monday, the security forces launched the operation after receiving information about present of the terrorists in the area. The security forces cordoned off the area and launched a swift action which resulted into the death of four terrorists. According to the ISPR, the slain terrorists were involved in a number of attacks against security forces and civilians. It may be mentioned here that a sessions judge, Shakirullah Marwat, was abducted while travelling from Tank to DI Khan on Sunday but he was recovered from North Waziristan district during the night.
The judge was heading from Tank to DI Khan when unidentified gunmen abducted him. The kidnappers made the judge step out of his vehicle and took him away. They left behind his security guard and driver, but set his vehicle on fire. Later, a video surfaced showing the judge claiming that the Taliban had abducted him. In the footage, he made an appeal to the authorities concerned to fulfil the demands of his abductors. The Peshawar High Court took notice and summoned authorities concerned to secure the release of the judge at the earliest.
