District Police Officer (DPO) Chiniot Dr. Naveed Atif, while talking to the media, said that foolproof security arrangements have been completed by the police on the occasion of Chehlum of Karbala.  He said all resources will be used to ensure the promotion of religious harmony and tolerance, and implementation of the government code of conduct will be ensured.  According to details, 17 processions and 16 meetings are being organized across the district on the occasion of Chehlum of Karbala.

Out of these, 1 procession is Category A, 5 processions are Category B, 11 processions are Category C, while 3 meetings are Category B and 13 meetings are Category C.More than 800 police officers and personnel will perform security duties at all the meetings and processions. Sensitive meetings and processions will be monitored through CCTV cameras, video recording, surveillance vehicles, Smart City Chiniot, and the control room. 

The roads adjacent to the processions will be closed with barbed wire. DPO Dr. Naveed Atif said that people joining the gatherings and processions will be allowed to enter after passing through specific entry points, four-layer security check points, walk-through gates, metal detectors and physical searches. Ladies police personnel will be deployed to check women.

Four-layer security arrangements have also been ensured at the front and back of the processions. Armed personnel have been deployed on rooftops at important points. Special traffic staff have been deployed to keep traffic flowing during the processions.  The DPO added that law and order will be maintained by utilizing all available resources.
