Police arrested five suspected drug peddlers and seized narcotics, liquor and an illegal weapon during a district-wide crackdown, a police spokesperson said here on Monday.The A-Division police team arrested Ali Hasnain, son of Fayyaz, a resident of Khalidabad, and recovered 1,220 grams of hashish,while Tanda police team arrested Ghulam Mustafa, son of Abdullah Khan of Barila, seizing 10 litres of liquor.In another operation.

Dinga police arrested two suspects--Parvez, son of Akram, and Shakir, son of Ashraf, both residents of Dhandiala and recovered 1,200 grams and 1,220 grams of hashish from them, respectively. Separately, police at Gotriala Post arrested Muhammad Ashfaq, son of Gul Nawaz, a resident of Sadwal, and seized an illegal 12-bore rifle. Separate cases were registered and further investigations were underway, the spokesperson added.
