Five dacoits were killed and two escaped from the scene during a police encounter in Narang Mandi. The incident took place at Muridke-Narowal Road in Narang Mandi. Police sources said they received credible information that seven  dacoits who were riding three motorcycles were looting people at Kartu Stop.  A team from the Crime Control Department (CCD) immediately rushed to the spot.

After taking notice of the CCD team, the dacoits started firing on the police team. During the exchange of fire, five dacoits died on the spot and two fled from the area. Later, the CCD team shifted the dead bodies of the dacoits to the local hospital for post-mortem.Police started a search operation to apprehend the accomplices of the dacoits.
