A severe fire broke out in Excise Office Sukkur Tuesday night. According to police the cause of the fire is not known. After the incident, police and fire brigade personnel arrived. Vehicles parked in the Excise Office premises have been damaged badly, police said. It seems that there was sparking from electric wires or someone threw a burning cigarette butt. Meanwhile, a fire broke out at a jewelry shop in Pakpattan's Dargah Bazaar as a result many shops in the market were engulfed in flames. However, Rescue 1122 brought the fire under control after a long struggle. Moreover, the fire in a chemical factories located at Karol Ghati Lahore was brought under control after nine hours. According to rescue officials, after controlling the fire in the chemical factory, the cooling process continued. As many as 50 personnel along with 13 rescue vehicles participated in the fire-fighting.
The fire broke out in four chemical factories located on six Kanal. Three factories were located in a row in which all the equipment was burnt to ashes. The fire first broke out in a factory with an area of two and a half kanals. A chemical drum burst in the big factory, causing a fire in the other three factories in the 20-foot street. Due to the narrow and dark passage, the rescuers faced difficulties in extinguishing the fire. The fire continued to burn throughout the night but the district administration, DC Lahore and officials of concerned departments did not come to inspect the incident. However, there was no loss of life due to the fire. There was no fire-fighting equipment inside the factories, rescue emergency officer Shakeel said. There was no water nearby to rescue the fire. Rescue vehicles had to go 8 to 10 kilometers away to fill water, Rescue Emergency Officer Shakeel said.
