Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested an FIA official on the charge of issuing blue passports to foreigners, including Afghanis. The FIA authorities have also arrested the accused Aniq’s father, who was involved in the case too. According to FIA officials, the accused Aniq and his father issued blue passports to Afghanis from 2020 to 2022 on which FIA registered a case under the provisions of anti-terrorism laws. Those Afghanis who were being issued blue passports travelled to Turkey where the Turkish government recovered fake passports from their possession. According to the text of the FIR, the issuance of blue passports brought the country into disrepute and the illegal use of blue passports also affected diplomatic relations.
