FESCO nets over 4,000 electricity thieves in region-wide crackdownBreaking

The Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) has intensified its crackdown on electricity theft, conducting non-stop checks in six operation circles across eight districts. Special measures are also being taken to recover dues from defaulters. According to FESCO spokesperson, in the last 24 hours alone, FESCO teams have caught 31 more electricity thieves and imposed fines of over 26 lakh 13 thousand rupees. FIRs have been filed against them and their meters have been removed. Over the past 88 days, FESCO has issued more than 1.13 million detection units and fined over 52 crores to 4391 electricity thieves. These include 4133 domestic connections, 132 commercial connections, 116 agricultural connections, and 10 industrial connections.

A total of 3648 electricity thieves have been arrested and 4181 cases have been registered against them. Additionally, FESCO has recovered over 34 crores from electricity thieves. In district Faisalabad, 1398 electricity thieves have been fined over 16 crore 41 lakh rupees. In Jhang district, 484 electricity thieves have been fined over 6 crore 54 lakh rupees. In Bhakkar district, 502 electricity thieves have been fined over 5 crore 65 lakh rupees. In Chiniot district, 446 electricity thieves have been fined over 6 crore 31 lakh rupees. In Khushab district, 125 electricity thieves have been fined over 1 crore 79 lakh rupees. In Toba district, 338 electricity thieves have been fined over 3 crore 88 lakh rupees. He said that FESCO is committed to combating electricity theft and ensuring fair and equitable distribution of electricity to all its customers.
