Federal govt willing to make reforms in pension  Breaking

January 23, 2024

The federal government has made a decision on pension reforms to control the surging bill, following the recommendations from the Pay and Pension Committee. The proposed reforms suggest that federal government employees will be entitled to a total pension based on 70% of the last 36 months of service prior to retirement. Any increase in pension during retirement will be granted on the pension determined at the time of retirement. Family pension sharing will be applicable only for a maximum period of ten years after the death of the entitled recipient, and in the case of martyrs, this period will be extended to 20 years. In the case of a disabled child, the pension will be applicable for their lifetime. After retirement, in the event of re-employment, whether as a regular hire or a contract pensioner, the individual will only be entitled to either pension or salary, not both.
