The Research Information Unit of the Ayub Agricultural Research Institute (AARI) Faisalabad on Thursday has advised farmers to start linseed cultivation immediately. Dr. Muhammad Imran, Head of the Research Information Unit, said that the selection of medium land for linseed cultivation is very important. He said that for the cultivation of Chandni 1988, the approved variety of linseed, the farmers should plow the soil 2 to 3 times so that the land is soft and fertile as well as well prepared.Dr. Imran also advised farmers to maintain a distance of 30 cm between rows while cultivating the linseed crop by drill. He said that a bumper crop can be obtained by adding 6 kg per acre seed in canal areas and 8 kg per acre seed in rainfed areas. For further guidance and counseling in this regard, farmers can contact agricultural experts or the field staff of the Department of Agriculture.
