Caretaker Minister for National Food Security Dr Kausar Abdullah Malik has stated that government is making all out efforts to improve food security in the country. Addressing a Round Table Conference in Lahore, he said caretaker government has taken various measures to increase agricultural production besides improving the irrigation system, promoting modern farming techniques, and providing subsidies to farmers. He said challenges like water scarcity, climate change, and post-harvest losses are also being addressed. He added that the government is also focusing on improving seed quality, implementing climate-smart agriculture practices, and strengthening agricultural extension services.
