ECP faces shortage of 167,737 personnel for election securityBreaking

A new challenge has surfaced in ensuring law and order during the upcoming general elections, with a projected shortfall of 167,737 personnel for duty at polling stations. According to reports, all four provinces have conveyed to the federal government that there will be a deficiency of 167,000 personnel required for election duty at polling stations. A suggestion has been put forth to mobilize forces from Azad Kashmir to address this shortage. The country needs a total of 535,402 security personnel for election duty, yet the provinces and Islamabad will only have 367,669 security personnel available on polling day. The federal government has been officially notified about this inadequacy in security personnel. On the breakdown, it is revealed that Islamabad will have 4,500 security personnel, Punjab 130,000, Sindh 15,000, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 89,959 on the day of polling. Additionally, Balochistan will deploy 38,210 security personnel for election security.
