DSP, his gunman martyred in brazen Lakki Marwat attackBreaking

A deputy superintendent of police (DSP) and his gunman were martyred in an attack in Lakki Marwat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa late Friday night. According to details, DSP Gul Muhammad Khan was on routine patrol in Lakki Marwat when some unidentified assailants opened fire on the police van due to which the DSP and his gunman were critically wounded. They were taken to the Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) hospital of Norang where both of them died during treatment. A contingent of police reached the spot after the incident and cordoned off the area.

Police have also launched a search operation in the area to arrest the culprits. Terror attacks are taking a toll on the country for quite some time. On March 27 last, five Chinese nationals were killed and several others injured when the vehicle they were travelling by came under attack near Besham – a town located in Shangla district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.  A suicide bomber rammed an explosives-laden vehicle into a convoy of engineers which was on its way from Islamabad to their camp in Dasu, Mohammad Ali Gandapur, the regional police chief [DIG Malakand], said.
