August 27, 2024

The district administration accelerated its efforts during the ongoing anti-dengue campaign across the district. Deputy Commissioner (DC) Waseem Hamid Sandhu issued a red alert to the health department following the recent heavy rains. During a surprise inspection of field teams here on Tuesday, the DC conducted briefings and reviewed the progress of the anti-dengue activities. He ordered the sealing of two commercial buildings where dengue larvae were found. Expressing strong displeasure over the accumulation of water in tires, utensils, and stagnant ponds, the DC stated that strict action would be taken against those failing to implement measures for dengue larvae eradication. He directed that comprehensive surveillance would be carried out at sensitive locations and homes to prevent the spread of dengue. "The risks of dengue larvae growth have increased during the rainy season," said Waseem. He called on civil society, the business community, and all segments of society to join this crucial fight against dengue.
