The National Industrial Relations Commission (NIRC) has announced the date for the referendum. The polling for the referendum will be held on Thursday, 6th February, 2025 in which approximately 11,900 CDA employees will exercise their right to vote to determine the collective bargaining agent. Regarding the referendum, the authorized officer had allotted the election symbols of Chand Sitara to the CDA Mazdoor Union, Green Flag to the CDA Workers Federation, Shaheen to the CDA Labour Union and Lion to the CDA Employees Union.
On this occasion, CDA Mazdoor Union General Secretary Chaudhry Muhammad Yasin, President Aurangzeb Khan, Chairman Raja Shakir Zaman Kayani, Supreme Head Mirza Saeed Akhtar, Additional General Secretary Sardar Naseem Mumtaz, Haji Sabir Hussain, Muhammad Asim Malik, Sufi Mahmood Ali, Asad Mahmood, Muhammad Sarfaraz Malik, Azhar Khan Tanoli, Chaudhry Zahid, Malik Dilshad, Chaudhry Wajid Gujjar, Chaudhry Abrar, Raja Ghulam Murtaza, Khalid Mahmood
Waris Daleep and others said that the CDA Mazdoor union had challenged the referendum in the NIRC after the expiry of the CBA's term in the CDA, on which today the authorized officer appointed by the NIRC has completed the process and announced the date of the referendum. Today, the workers of the CDA have become conscious and will choose competent leadership for a better future for themselves and their children in the upcoming referendum. We will, God willing, defeat the anti-worker groups and those who do negative politics with the power of the workers' vote.
We have served the workers in the past, regardless of their color, race and religion, and will continue to serve the workers in this spirit in the future. The workers' union officials asked their workers to work day and night for the success of their organization so that, God willing, after the success in the referendum, other issues of the employees will be given priority.
