The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) arrested nine terrorists during intelligence based operations (IBOs) in various cities of Punjab, a CTD spokesperson said on Monday. The spokesperson said that the CTD conducted operations against members of banned outfits in Lahore, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Sialkot and Hafizabad. Meanwhile, two people were held in Lahore for extending financial assistance to defunct Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). The CTD recovered explosives, two hand grenades and other items from possession of the nabbed terrorists. The spokesman further stated the detained terrorists included Abdul Rehman, Abdul Waheed, Azeem, Sufiyan, Siddique, Sajjad Jutt, Imran Ali and Umer Farooq. The nabbed terrorists were planning to conduct terrorist activities in various cities of Punjab, he added.
