A fire broke out in a passenger bus at Motorway M-2 due to an electric short-circuit that occurred at the back of the vehicle. At the time of the incident, the bus was not carrying any passengers. Only the crew was on board, and they were safely evacuated thanks to the prompt response of the Motorway Police. The officers reached the scene soon after being informed and ensured the safety of the crew before taking further action to manage the fire.
To prevent any further damage, the Motorway Police coordinated with the Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) and used water bowsers to extinguish the flames. Traffic was also managed by setting up cones and warning boards to avoid accidents in the area. Officials confirmed that the fire was fully controlled and no injuries were reported.
The bus owner acknowledged the professionalism of the Motorway Police, stating that their swift action saved lives and limited the damage to the vehicle. Authorities have advised motorists to remain vigilant while travelling and to report any incidents promptly to ensure safety on the motorway.
