A court in Rawalpindi Monday summoned the deputy administrator of Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) over an eviction notice to Laal Haveli. Sheikh Rashid Shafiq, a nephew of Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rashid, had appeared along with his lawyer Sardar Abdul Razzaq before a court in Rawalpindi. “The main case is pending in the court. October 24 is the date for the hearing,” the lawyer argued before the court. “The eviction notice had been sent out of political revenge. The ETPB intended to raid Laal Haveli with the help of police under political influence. Laal Haveli is the property of Sheikh Rashid,” he added. Additional District and Sessions Judge Khursheed Alam Bhatti issued a notice to the ETPB.
