An anti-terrorism court (ATC) here on Saturday extended the judicial remand of diehard PTI workers, including Khadija Shah, Sanam Javed, Tayyaba Raja, Afshan Tariq and Aliya Hamza Malik in Jinnah House vandalism and arson case by another 14 days. Judge Ejaz Ahmad Buttar ordered the police to produce suspects in the court on September 9. Earlier, the ladies were produced in the court after the completion of their judicial remand.Investigation Officer (IO) in the case sought extension in the judicial remand of the suspects, saying the case’s challan was being prepared; therefore, more time was required.
A case had been registered against the PTI workers at Sarwar Road police station of Lahore. Thousands of people came out on streets in several cities of the country following the arrest of former prime minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan by Rangers personnel on May 9. They vandalized and set fire to military installations and government buildings besides damaging memorials of martyrs of the Pakistan Army to register their protest against the arrest the arrest of their leader.
