Court extends bail granted to Imran Khan in four terrorism casesBreaking

February 15, 2024

An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Lahore on Thursday extended the interim bail granted to former prime minister and ex-PTI chairman Imran Khan in four, out of seven cases, until February 19, 2024. ATC Judge Arshad Javed heard the bail petitions filed by the former prime minister in the cases of PML-N office burning, burning of a container at Lahore’s Kalima Chowk, Zille Shah murder, and Zaman Park vandalism and arson in court no 3, while Admin Judge Muhammad Naveed Iqbal heard the petitions filed in the cases of Jinnah House attack, Askari Tower attack, and torching of Shadman police station. However, Imran could not attend the case’s hearing via a video link. Barrister Salman Safdar, counsel for Imran, did not appear in the court either. His junior lawyers, who appeared in his place instead, said since their senior lawyer was absent due to his engagements, therefore, the court was requested to adjourn the hearing. The court also sought a reply on the application filed by Imran’s lawyer for the production of his client in the court.
