Pakistan has witnessed a notable increase in cotton yarn exports during the current financial year, while exports of cotton garments have seen a decline, according to the latest statistics released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS). In the first 10 months of the current fiscal year, the country earned $846 million from yarn exports, marking a 33 percent increase compared to the same period last year. The export volume was recorded at $637 million, with April alone contributing $54 million, up from $44 million in March but down from $64 million in April of the previous year. Conversely, cotton garment exports brought in $1.558 billion during the same 10-month period, representing an 8 percent decrease from the previous fiscal year. The volume of cotton garment exports in April was $135 million, down from $163 million in March and $147 million in April last year. Overall, the total exports of textile products in the first 10 months of the financial year reached $13.68 billion, reflecting the diverse performance within the sector. These figures highlight the shifting dynamics in Pakistan's textile export market, with cotton yarn showing robust growth while cotton garments face a downturn.
