A meeting was held at the Commissioner Office, Astore, under the chairmanship of the Commissioner, Diamer-Astore Division, to review the progress of ongoing development projects in District Astore.The meeting was attended by Additional Secretary, Communication & Works (C&W) Department, Zaid, Deputy Commissioner Astore, officers of the relevant departments, engineers, and representatives of the executing agencies.
During the meeting, a comprehensive review was conducted on the progress of ongoing development schemes, construction quality, utilization of funds, challenges being faced, and the timely completion of projects. The Commissioner directed all concerned officers to ensure that every development project is completed strictly in accordance with the standards, scope, and timelines specified in the approved PC-I, so that quality public services can be delivered without delay.
The Commissioner emphasized that the Government of Gilgit-Baltistan considers the timely and transparent completion of development projects a top priority. He warned that no leniency would be shown towards unnecessary delays, negligence, poor performance, or any factors causing obstacles in the implementation of development schemes. He instructed the concerned departments to closely monitor all projects, maintain the highest standards of quality, and utilize all available resources to ensure the early completion of public welfare initiatives.
The Commissioner said that strict legal action would be taken against any individual or organization found obstructing development work, employing delaying tactics, or interfering in official matters. He reaffirmed the administration's commitment to ensuring the timely and transparent execution of all development projects so that the people of District Astore can benefit from them without delay.
