The commissioner said that there will be zero tolerance for environmental pollution. He also directed to include civil society and stakeholders in the campaign against smog. In a meeting of the divisional environmental committee, the commissioner approved the establishment of new petrol pumps, cold storage, and warehouses. He ordered the departments concerned to complete NOCs of petrol pumps in the timeline on merit.

The commissioner warned that strict action would be taken over violation of SOPs of infrastructure and master plan. He asked to accelerate the process of shifting brick kilns to zigzag technology across the division. He said that complete scrutiny of commercial building maps and parking areas would be made. The commissioner's directives come in the wake of growing concerns about environmental pollution in Multan division. The city has been ranked as one of the most polluted cities in the world.
