Cold, dry weather expected in most parts of countryBreaking

Cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country. However, cloudy weather with light rain/snowfall is likely at isolated places in Gilgit-Baltistan, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and surrounding areas. Foggy conditions are likely over plain areas of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and upper Sindh during morning hours. Temperatures of some major cities recorded on Monday. Islamabad six degree centigrade, Lahore twelve, Karachi fifteen, Peshawar seven, Quetta and Gilgit zero, Murree four and Muzaffarabad five degree centigrade. According to Met Office forecast for Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, partly cloudy and cold weather is expected in Srinagar, Jammu, Pulwama, Anantnag, Shopian and Baramula, cloudy weather with chances of light rain and snow in Leh.

Temperature recorded. Srinagar and Shopian three degree centigrade, Jammu ten, Leh minus six, Pulwama and Anantnag two and Baramula one degree centigrade. On the other hand citizens faced immense difficulties due to mist, leading to smog in Muzaffargarh and its adjoining areas. Medical expert Dr. Ibrar Shah urged people to take special care during the ongoing spell of smog as it leads to health complications, adding that the smog is causing itching in the eyes, cough, flu, fever, and disturbance in respiration. He advised people to wear masks while going outside as the whole region was in the grip of smog. Similarly, they should drink plenty of water after regular intervals.
