Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Saturday visited Directorate-General of Civil Defence in Islamabad and reviewed different measures to tackle any emergency situation. During his visit, the Interior Minister examined Directorate-General of Civil Defence and held a meeting with officers and staff members. Speaking on the occasion, Mohsin Naqvi said that all measures will be taken to strengthen capacity of the Civil Defence Department. He directed Civil Defence to get themselves ready to meet any emergency situation.
He emphasized on the need to provide training to ordinary citizens to tackle emergency situation all over the year. Mohsin Naqvi said that our enemy will not waste any movement to cause damage in an attempt to hide its intelligence failure so we should prepare ourselves to thwart their evil designs. He further directed to ensure best coordination among all provincial civil defence offices through Central Desk. Mohsin Naqvi said that Civil Defence play an important role not only in war but in peace time also.
On this occasion In-charge Civil Defence Amir Khan gave a detailed briefing to Interior Minister. Secretary Interior Agha Kurram was also present during the meeting. Mohsin Naqvi said that it is Civil Defence duty to keep morale of general public high in war time and extend full support to security forces. During the briefing Mohsin Naqvi was that Civil Defence Department is already conducting various training programmes to update citizens to tackle any emergency situation. Amir Khan said that the department conducted 250 training courses in 10 training institutions annually.
