A chairlift carrying school children got stuck midair after its rope broke down in Battagram, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. As per details, the chairlift is stuck in Battagram’s Tehsil Alai as a result eight schoolchildren and their teachers are stranded in midair for several hours. No steps have been taken for the rescue of the people. The stranded people are shouting for help. Meanwhile, rescue sources have said a helicopter is needed to rescue the people. Earlier, four people were killed as a chairlift plunged into the Indus River near Sammar Nallah area in district Upper Kohistan. The deceased were crossing the river from Shitial to Tangir area of Gilgit-Baltistan, when the string holding the chairlift broke into two pieces, plunging them into the fast-flowing river.
