Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif the federal government is committed to working together with the newly elected government of Gilgit-Baltistan for the welfare and well-being of the people. He stated this during a meeting Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan Amjad Hussain. The premier congratulated Amjad Hussain on assuming the office of the chief minister.

During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on matters pertaining to Gilgit-Baltistan. In his remarks, PM Shehbaz said the federal government is taking steps regarding developmental projects in the areas of renewable energy, tourism, infrastructure, health, education, and other sectors for the progress and prosperity of Gilgit-Baltistan. Among the federal government's projects, the top priorities include a 100-megawatt solar energy initiative and the establishment of knowledge schools. 

The federal government is also planning to establish a Pakistan Easy Service Center in Gilgit for the convenience of the people of Gilgit-Baltistan. The meeting was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal, and Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Khan Cheema.
