Car-trailer accident leaves three dead in LahoreBreaking

October 15, 2026

Three people, including a woman and a child, were killed when a speeding 22-wheeler trailer crashed into a car on Allama Iqbal Road, in Garhi Shahu here on Wednesday. Rescue teams rushed to the scene and cut through the wreckage to retrieve the bodies, which were subsequently shifted to hospital for necessary procedures. Senior police officials also arrived at the site along with a heavy contingent of personnel. Police said the accident occurred due to overspeeding, adding that the trailer involved in the incident had been taken into custody and an investigation was underway.

Authorities vowed strict action against those found responsible. The incident has once again raised concerns over the unchecked movement of heavy vehicles on Lahore’s roads late at night. Reports suggest that traffic wardens are often absent from major roads during these hours, while speeding and racing by trucks, tractors and trailers continue to pose serious risks to citizens’ lives. Authorities face renewed calls to strengthen traffic enforcement and ensure stricter monitoring of heavy vehicles to prevent such tragic incidents.
