The dead body of a Pakistani citizen, Safeerullah Eid Murjan, who embraced martyrdom in Abu Dhabi during a missile attack by Iran, arrived at New Islamabad International Airport (NIIA), Islamabad.
Safeerullah was a resident of the Bannu district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. His dead body will be dispatched from Islamabad Airport to Bannu via an ambulance. Diplomatic staff arranged all measures for the smooth shifting of the body. Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF) also supported the transfer of the dead body to his native village.
Shaheed Safeerullah was performing his duty as a driver in Abu Dhabi. Pakistani diplomatic mission in Abu Dhabi thanked the United Arab Emirates' foreign ministry and police for taking measures for the transfer of the dead body.
The latest incident adds to a series of similar fatalities involving Pakistani nationals in the UAE amid ongoing regional tensions. On March 17, a Pakistani national was killed due to falling debris following a missile interception. On March 8, a Pakistani driver died when debris from an aerial interception hit a vehicle in Dubai’s Al Barsha area.
Another Pakistani national, identified as Mureed Zaman, was killed in a similar incident in Abu Dhabi on February 28, the day the conflict began following strikes involving the United States and Israel against Iran.
