The body of a 45-year-old man missing since July was recovered in a mutilated condition from a well near Garhi Afghanan village within the jurisdiction of Wah Cantonment Police Station on Sunday. Identified as Khalid Khan, a resident of the same village, his family had filed a First Information Report at the Wah Cantt police station after his disappearance.
Upon receiving a tip about a body inside the well, police and Rescue 1122 teams responded, retrieved the remains after a brief operation, and transferred them to Civil Hospital Taxila for post-mortem examination. Police officials said the post-mortem will determine the cause and circumstances of death, and that a full investigation is underway.
All possibilities, including foul play, are being considered as authorities work to piece together the events leading to Khan’s demise. Rescue 1122 and local law enforcement continue to coordinate the inquiry, urging anyone with additional information to come forward to assist with the ongoing investigation.
