The Customs authorities claimed to have foiled bid for smuggling cartridges worth tens of millions rupees, authorities told media on Wednesday. According to the Customs officials, the ammunition was being smuggled from Afghanistan in a truck. The Custom authorities intercepted the truck carrying 31,000 cartridges of different bores in Kohat. The smuggled cartridges were being kept in secret compartments of the truck. Officials said the seized cartridges could have been used in any major terrorist attack. The Custom authorities arrested the truck driver and launched detailed investigation.
