Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar on Thursday condemned “the way” through which the government wanted to bring constitutional amendment. Speaking to media, the PTI chief lashed out at the government for abducting Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Zain Qureshi’s wife in the dead of night. He said if the government wanted to employ these tactics to coerce us into passing constitutional amendment, then it should clearly state that it has abandoned rule of law and supremacy of constitution. “If you want to do legislation using these means then we will better avoid coming to parliament for talks on constitutional amendment,” he warned. Expressing his party’s stance on constitutional amendment, Gohar said the PTI had informed the ruling coalition that it would present its draft after consulting PTI Founder Imran Khan.“We had told the government that we will mull over the draft with Maulana Fazlur Rehman. The legislation depends on conscience and independent choice, not on number games,” he pointed out.
