Baloch commander, over 100 militants lay down their arms in SuiBreaking

Over a hundred militants including their commander, who belonged to an outlawed organization, have surrendered to the Balochistan authorities in Sui. The militants gave up their arms, hoisted the Pakistani flag and took an oath of allegiance to the state of Pakistan. Commander Wadero Noor Ali Chakrani along with his supporters handed their weapons to Mir Aftab Ahmad Bugti at a ceremony in Dera Bugti area of Sui.

On the occasion, the militants announced that they had abandoned the armed struggle against the government and would join mainstream politics. Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti congratulated the commander and his supporters for joining the national mainstream. “Their decision to surrender is commendable,” he chief minister added. Sarfaraz Bugti said by holding the Pakistani flags high the surrendered men have begun their journey to peace.

“This is a crystal-clear signal that the State had not shut the doors for dialogue,” he maintained. The chief minister further said that intelligence-based operations against anti-state elements were continuing along with the process to embrace those surrender their weapons and accept Pakistan’s Constitution. Sarfaraz Bugti warned that those who would consider state’s soft approach as a weakness the government would hunt down such elements no matter what.
