The road traffic between Balakot and Naran has been restored after Pakistan Army and FWO completed the reconstruction work on destroyed bridge. It should be mentioned here that flooding Manoor nullah had swept away the bridge at Mahandri area on July 30, 2024. Due to destruction of bridge, the traffic between Balakot and Naran was closed completely. A large number of tourists visiting Kaghan valley were also stranded at Naran due to closure of road who were later evacuated through alternated route. The local residents were also facing severe problems and difficulties due to the destruction of Mahandri bridge. Keeping the seriousness of situation in view, the NHA and FWO decided to construct the bridge on an emergency basis while the Pakistan Army provided equipment for the construction of the bridge. The machinery and manpower of FWO remained engaged round the clock and to its day and night efforts, the construction of the bridge was been completed within short time.
