The Auqaf Department has demanded from the finance department Rs2.40 billion for the expansion of Data Darbar. The finance department will initiate the process of release of funds next week.The Auqaf Department wants the construction of the shrine. The secretary Auqaf sent the requisition to the finance department on Saturday. Meanwhile, work on the remodeling and expansion of the Data Darbar and Bhatti Chowk is underway as structures around the chowk as well as the shrine are being dismantled.

The DG TIPA, on the other hand, has directed that the SOPs be fully implemented while the construction work is underway. TIPA officials have said that an alternate plan will be drawn up so that the devotees could visit the shrine daily. The officials have further said that since the structures are old and in a dilapidated condition, therefore, they are being bulldozed manually, while the TIPA staffers are disposing of the debris with the help of heavy machinery.
