Rescue 1122 teams reached the site immediately and transferred the bodies and injured to nearby hospitals. Meanwhile, in Lakki Marwat, another IED exploded near Darra Tang, within the limits of Thana Saddar, injuring SHO Raziq Khan and two other police officials.

Preliminary reports indicate that the explosive device was planted near the Darra Tang bridge. At the time, the district police officer (DPO) of Lakki Marwat was on a routine inspection and was scheduled to pass through the same route. Notably, a lawyer was abducted by unidentified armed men from the same area just a day earlier. Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi has sought an immediate report from senior officials regarding the Tank attack.

Expressing condolences to the families and colleagues of the martyred policemen, he praised their bravery, saying, “Our province’s courageous youth embraced martyrdom while protecting the lives and property of the public. We are proud of our martyrs. Actions by India-backed extremist groups will not weaken our resolve.” He also urged the provincial government to take practical measures to ensure law and order in the province.
