Former leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Asad Umar, discussed the internal challenges faced by the party, particularly during the leadership of Usman Buzdar. In an interview with Private TV Channel, Umar revealed that the presence of key figures like Jahangir Tareen and Aleem Khan had a significant impact on the party's dynamics, noting that Buzdar often felt threatened by their influence. Umar highlighted the broader context of party pressures, mentioning that many leaders were sidelined by the establishment when tensions escalated.
Reflecting on his experience following his release from Adiala Jail, Umar emphasized that Imran Khan remains the party's core vote bank and stressed the importance of a well-thought-out strategy for PTI's future. Addressing the issue of constitutional amendments, Umar stated that building consensus is a lengthy process and cautioned against making hasty changes that could lead to further complications. When asked about his future political plans, Umar clarified that he has no intention of joining another party, expressing his support and sympathy for PTI as it navigates its current challenges.
