Reacting to the sentence handed down to PTI founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bib in Toshakhan reference Wednesday, former National Assembly speaker and party leader Asad Qaiser said that what is happening in courts, is a murder of justice. The former speaker said that they already knew what kind of decisions were coming. “What is happening in courts, is a murder of justice.” Qaiser said that all legal aspects were not taken into account by the accountability court while announcing the sentence against former premier and PTI founder Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi in the Toshakhana reference. He lamented that the court even did not bother to wait for Imran Khan’s lawyers who were arguing his case in the court. He said that most of the Toshakhana gifts were retained by Nawaz Sharif and Asif Ali Zardari. “This (announcement of adverse judgments) is happening only to dampen the spirit of the PTI workers ahead of the February 8 elections,” Qaiser observed. He asked the PTI workers to stand by their party and ‘don’t lose heart. It’s a long battle. We have to continue our struggle to change the system of this country.”
