The All Parties Hurriyat Conference has urged the United Nations to implement its resolutions on Jammu and Kashmir without further delay in the interest of lasting peace in the South Asian region. According to Kashmir Media Service, APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas in a statement issued in Srinagar held Indian leadership responsible for prevailing political uncertainty, chaos and war euphoria in the region. The statement condemned Indian External Affairs Minister Jaishankar’s statement on Pakistan and Kashmir.
After World War II, APHC said, it is India’s the longest-standing illegal occupation with presence of huge military force in Indian illegally occupied Kashmir. The spokesman sought intervention of the international community in the wake of a new wave of state terrorism unleashed by the Indian armed forces in occupied Kashmir. Abdul Rashid Minhas urged India to shun rigidity and pave the way to resolve the Kashmir dispute as per UN resolutions.
The resolution mentions that the political future of Jammu and Kashmir would be decided by the democratic method of free and impartial referendum. He deplored that India had turned Kashmir into a huge prison by deputing over one million troops and has given free hand under black laws to its forces to kill Kashmiris. He said by issuing domicile to thousands of Hindus, granting them rights to acquire lands and jobs in the occupied territory betrays the evil intentions of the Hindutva regime in India. The ruling BJP-RSS nexus wants to take away Kashmiris’ identity, culture and lands.
He praised Pakistan for always supporting the right to self-determination of the Kashmiris in accordance with the UN resolutions at all forums. Meanwhile, posters have appeared in Rafiabad areas of Barmulla district with greeting messages ahead of the Pakistan Day to be celebrated on March 23. The posters said: “People of Jammu and Kashmir demand an end to Indian illegal occupation and "Jammu and Kashmir is part of Pakistan." The posters were also shared on social media platforms, including Facebook and twitter.
