APHC urges UN chief to address Kashmir disputeBreaking

February 20, 2025

The All Parties Hurriyat Conference has called for intervention by the UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterres, on urgent basis to resolve the Kashmir dispute.   According to Kashmir Media Service, on the World Day of Social Justice, today, APHC spokesman Abdul Rashid Minhas, in a memorandum addressed to the United Nations Secretary General, Antonio Guterres from Srinagar, urged him to use his good offices to stop political injustice and atrocities by BJP-led Indian government in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

He said that all fundamental rights have been snatched from the subjugated people of Kashmir and deplored that continued cordon and search operation, arbitrary arrests under black laws, extrajudicial killings, physical and mental violence, corruption, degradation of human values, seizure of properties and crackdown on Islamic literature including books of renowned Muslim scholar Maulana Syed Abu al Aala Maudoodi and historical books on Jammu and Kashmir have become a routine matter of BJP govt in the disputed territory.

He said at a time,  when International Social Justice Day is observed across the world, the oppressed people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir continue to face injustice for the past 78 years for demanding the implementation of United Nations Security Council resolutions on Kashmir.

He also denounced the BJP regime’s local representative LG Manoj Sinha for suspending employees, attaching properties of Kashmiris and operations against the Islamic book and literature which are the fresh examples how Kashmir have been deprived of their social rights.  He said the “World Day of Social Justice” is being celebrated all over the world but Kashmiris including its leadership and thousands in jails have been deprived of the social justice.
