The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter has expressed deep sorrow over the demise of renowned Kashmiri journalist Athar Masood Wani and his brother Zafar Wani.  Athar Masood Wani was a senior member of the Kashmir Journalists Forum and the editor-in-chief of Kasheer Weekly, while his brother Zafar Wani was a former PWO Engineer in the AJK Highways Department. 

In a press statement, APHC-AJK extended its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and assured them of its solidarity during this difficult time. The leadership prayed for patience and strength for the grieving family, acknowledging that the loss of two brothers in quick succession is an immense tragedy.  The statement further noted that the sorrow of Athar Masood Wani’s passing was still fresh when the heartbreaking news of his brother Zafar Wani’s demise arrived, adding to the family’s grief.

The Hurriyat leadership expressed deep sympathy and prayed for the departed souls, asking Allah Almighty to grant them eternal peace and bestow patience upon their family.  It is pertinent to mention that Athar Masood Wani passed away on February 23, while Zafar Wani breathed his last yesterday.
