Another power tariff hike is on the cards amid unrelenting inflation as the Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) has filed an application with National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) seeking an increase of Rs1.17 per unit, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday. The CPPA has requested for the increase hike in connection with the monthly fuel charges adjustment (FCA) for the month of March. The Nepra will conduct a hearing in this regard on May 3. The approval of the plea will put an additional burden on the electricity consumers. Meanwhile, K-Electric consumers and lifeline consumers will be exempted from this power tariff hike.
