Angelina Jolie urges international community to help Pakistan flood survivorsBreaking

September 22, 2022

United Nation envoy and humanitarian Angelina Jolie has paid a visit to the National Flood Response Coordination Centre on Wednesday. She expressed her determination to focus the world's attention on the flood disasters in Pakistan, saying: “the world has no idea about the destruction that has happened.” She continued: “The world should wake up to the situation in Pakistan. This is a life-and-death issue for many people. “I have never seen such destruction anywhere in my life. The victims are in urgent need of food, shelter and medical aid. “If help does not arrive in the coming weeks, the survivors will not survive. There are countless children among these people who are battling for life.”

She heaped praise on the Pak Army’s flood rescue and relief operation, saying: " The army is busy helping the flood-hit people day and night. “If you see any aid activity, you see that Pakistan Army is doing it. Everywhere I saw Pakistan Army helping people, saving lives.” The humanitarian called upon the international community to help Pakistani flood victims, saying: “Earlier, whenever I came, I found the Pakistani people to be hospitable to the Afghan people. “Now, Pakistanis themselves are suffering major natural disasters.  Countries less responsible for climate change face more destruction and deaths than others. My heart is with the people in this hour of trouble.”
