ANF seizes 98 kg drugs, arrests 16 in countrywideBreaking

The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) recovered 98 kilogram drugs, arrested 16 drug peddlers during 13 operations conducted in various cities across the country. A spokesman of ANF Headquarters said on Friday that two passengers leaving for Sharjah were held at Peshawar Airport after recovery of 9 kg hashish. Another Qatar bound passenger was held after recovery of 2.9 kg Ice at Islamabad Airport. In fourth operation, 1 kg Ice was recovered from a passenger going to Qatar at Sialkot Airport. The ANF recovered 400 grams heroin from a parcel booked for Italy at the Lahore Courier Office. The spokesman informed that in two operations at Islamabad Airport, 116 heroin-filled capsules were recovered from two passengers going to Saudi Arabia and Turkey.

Similarly, 19 heroin-filled capsules were recovered from a passenger going to Malaysia at Lahore Airport. In another operation, 164 grams weed was recovered from two parcels sent to Thailand from a courier office in Rawalpindi. Three drug pushers were held after recovery of 40.8 kg hashish near Motorway Chowk Peshawar. The ANF recovered 21.3 kg hashish from two suspects arrested near G.T Road Sohawa. Two women apprehended after recovery of 14 kg hashish near M-1 Motorway Islamabad. The ANF held two suspects besides recovering 1.2 kg opium, 2 kg heroin and 3.3 kg hashish on Jaranwala Road, Faisalabad. Separate cases against the detainees were registered under Drug Act and further investigations were underway.
